The F Word
On Saturday 7 November, Goethe-Institut Ireland hosts the second night of The F Word, Beta’s programme exploring disinformation, polarisation and the forces shaping how we understand and navigate our increasingly fragmented digital world.
Tickets to be released 9th October.
Developed and hosted with The F Word Youth Advisory, the evening brings together two performances exploring the infrastructures, systems and behaviours that underpin our digital lives. Maureen Béguin draws on her ongoing research into data centres and the physical infrastructures behind our seemingly immaterial digital lives. Through performance and collective imagining, her work asks us to consider the material weight of our data, the environmental impact of the systems that store it, and what different digital infrastructures might look like if we could build them ourselves.
In Many Ears, Few Voices, artist Samuel Julian Grace turns instead towards attention and listening. Activated through performance and a multichannel horn-speaker system, the work creates a shared listening experience that offers a moment away from sensory and informational overload, asking what might become audible when we stop, focus and listen together.
Join us for an evening of performance, sound and collective reflection on the systems competing for our attention, the infrastructures that remain out of sight, and how we might relate to our digital world differently.
This initiative is supported by the Franco-German Cultural Fund 2026, the Embassy of France in Ireland, Alliance Française Dublin, The Digital Hub, Embassy of Germany in Dublin and Goethe-Institut Ireland.
