Tour: Unmasking Nature - Biophilic Foraging for Senses

Explores the connections between biophilia, neurodiversity and sensory experience, through this guided tour at the National Botanic Gardens. Biophilia describes our innate tendency to connect with the natural world, while neurodiversity invites us to recognise and value the many different ways people perceive, process and experience the world around them.

Participants are encouraged to slow down, explore the Gardens and consider how natural environments can shape our sensory experiences, attention, emotions and wellbeing. Rather than suggesting there is one way to be in the world, the tour celebrates difference and asks: can nature offer spaces where we can experience the world without having to mask who we are? Join us at the National Botanic Gardens to unmask nature, explore your senses and discover new ways of connecting with the living world.

Accessibility - ISL interpretation will be provided for this event; this is a relaxed event; Outdoor tour in natural ventilation; Audio Description assistance available on request; Step Free Tour. Please let us know through the booking link if there’s anything else we can do to make the tour more accessible for you.
